NeighbourLink North York with the support of residents in the community and the North York Garden Club will come together to celebrate spring and NeighbourLink North York’s 25 years of serving the community. Homeowners in the Willowdale & Newtonbrook areas have graciously agreed to open their beautiful spring gardens to the public for viewing on Saturday, June 8th, 2019 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in support of the building caring communities. You will enjoy a spectacular showcase of 10 unique private and community gardens on a self-guided tour in the Willowdale & Newtonbrook areas. Ticket-holders will start their tour at one of our designated Garden Tour Hubs, and end at the Parkview Community Gardens and adjoining John Mackenzie House for one of the three (3) afternoon teas scheduled between 12-4pm; where live music, a garden specialist, a silent auction and family-friendly activities will be hosted. For all you geo-caching enthusiasts you will have the opportunity to check out geo-caching sites along the garden tour route.
Proceeds of the event will directly support development of our current and new programs slated to be implemented between 2019 - 2020. In short, you will directly influence new programs aimed at housing, seniors, and newcomers in North York!
The success of any community event relies on the good will of volunteers. Over 50 volunteers are required to host the Hello Spring! Garden Tour & Afternoon Tea.
